Every other Sunday I’ll bring you a short but sweet, pick and mix, of things worth sharing from the fortnight gone by, delivered to your inbox ready for a lazy, morning scroll while you’re still in your PJ’s. It’s free to read.
Sunday 9th February
Hello, I hope you are enjoying a cosy Sunday!
This morning, I wish I was waking at Avington, a beautiful Hampshire estate with endless lodging possibilities. From lakeside cabins to shepherd’s huts, apartments, a cottage or a room in the pub. You can spend your time wild swimming, in the sauna, paddle boarding, kayaking, rowing, cycling, playing tennis or heading out on a walk with a curated picnic. Dreamy! Thank you S for the recommendation!
Lately I . . .
Watched The Outrun. This film follows a young woman battling alcohol addiction, she’s been living in London but after visiting her parents in her original home in the Scottish Orkney islands, she decides to extend her stay and try and get sober. The cinematic views, the scenes by the sea, her remote but cosy little cottage, her sleeping nook, the storms, the candle light, ahh I was enthralled by it all!
I also really enjoyed American, gothic horror Nosferatu, a remake of the 1922 film which was itself an adaptation of Dracula. It was beautifully shot and suitably spooky.
Discovered Ole and Steen’s Cardamom Buns and Tea India’s Masala Chai - which pair perfectly together!
Tried Child’s Farm Baby OatDerma Moisturiser on a whim, fragrance free it gives instant, soothing relief for dry and itchy skin. It sorted out my poor Winter hairdressing hands in just a couple of applications and feels great on the body and face too. Super nourishing yet absorbs quickly leaving no greasy residue.
Ordered my first bundle of Cloud Cloth’s. Dual purpose, re-usable, organic cotton cleansing cloths with a soft side and an exfoliating side. They wash well and dry fast. If you choose at least 7, you’ll have a fresh one to hand for every evening and can machine launder them at the end of the week. Simple and sustainable plus once you elevate your cleansing routine with a cloth, you will never look back!
Napped to this, Sleep Tracks mix of ocean wave sounds and restful classical music, another great playlist found on BBC 3Unwind.
Caught a Norfolk sunset. Earlier this week, I headed to the coast for a couple of nights and was greeted with this stunner of a sunset with pastel pink skies. I’ll be sharing more from the trip soon!
Spotted this cute hooded scarf on R and received this highly rated book recommendation from K.
Thanks for reading, I hope you discovered something new!

Loved that sunset - also, I actually made my own cardamom buns the other day and though I say so myself, they looked exactly like those ones from the pros and tasted really very good. They are my new favourite weekend indulgence, both in time and calories! I also caught the train from Paddington to Truro yesterday and spent the entire journey listening to BBC Unwind programme with Edith Bowman who plays only cinematic soundtracks. Was a lovely spend of time!
