Local loveliness
Coffee runs lately took me to Long Black and Wolk both on Richmond Hill and I picked up some snuggly, mustard stripe socks by Jess & Lou at The Little Shop On The Hill.
If you fancy a change from coffee, G tipped me off about bottomless chaat in Richmond at Cinammon Bazaar where you can enjoy 60 minutes of Indian street food classics like Paani Puris, Dahi Bhalla, and Papdi Chaat, all paired with signature Masala Chai for £14 pp.
Good things of note from the last fortnight
We had a fun little date night at The Jazz Cafe in Camden to see DJ Alex Kassian. P had pre-booked a table on the mezzanine level which provided the perfect vantage point to watch the show. Dirty martini in hand, cosmic house sounds and laid back beats from the stage, great venue!
I’ve also been listening to Maribou State’s new album Hallucinating Love on repeat (stick this on when the sun is shining and it’s an instant mood booster!)
and Little Symphony which is great as a soundtrack to meditation or yoga. Little Symphony's mission is to inspire people to prioritise personal wellness and connect with nature. They travel the world recording waterfalls, oceans, jungles, forests, and everything in between and then pair these sounds with heartfelt ambient, classical, and orchestral music to create a calming atmosphere to support listeners diverse needs.
We watched Companion, a sci-fi thriller about robot partners, that with the rise of AI hints to terrifying possibilities in the perhaps not too distant future. Eek! Enjoyed it though! Watch the trailer here. And I love Sophie Thatcher. she has amazing hair!
I Spy
I’ve set my sights on this pretty enamel table lamp from Graham & Green.
If you’re in the market for Mother’s Day blooms then I can’t recommend Smith & Munson enough, a priceless tip off from
last year, I’ve ordered multiple times since and they’ve never failed to deliver joy to recipients!I’m intrigued by the Illusionaries Breathscapes exhibition at canary Wharf. An Immersive Journey into Mindfulness and Transformation Through Meditation, Bodywork, and Breathwork. Showing until the end of March.
If you made it this far . . .
Thank you for reading. Here’s a little experiment, a 48 hour flash sale for all - I’m opening up the offer usually reserved for hair and facial guests, to purchase an annual subscription to Tales From The Chair for just £25. This will unlock every pay-walled post including travel and food tales and give you full access for 12 months, but hurry, this offer will expire in 48 hours! (and I think you need to be logged in, not in the app, for it to work!)
Not being much of a coffee person, I must confess I come here for the homeware recommendations. That lamp is stunning! Reminds me of a mushroom!
If you end up going to the exhibition let me know what you think!
