Every other Sunday I’ll bring you a short but sweet, pick and mix, of things worth sharing from the fortnight gone by, lists and links, delivered to your inbox ready for a lazy, morning scroll while you’re still in your PJ’s. It’s free to read.
SUNDAY 20TH APRIL
Good morning! Hope your week has been a great one and you’re indulging in eggs of the chocolate variety for breakfast today!
This weekend, I wish I was waking . . .
At : Louma Farm & Retreat
A peaceful, rural resort set within 100 acres of Dorset countryside, with a spa, woodland and vineyard. Choose from a room in the main house or you might prefer a stone barn or timber stable room, cabin or lodge.
In: the Rudie Stripe Short Pyjama Set from Hush
I love the cool toned colour combinations going on in this set (currently on sale)
Good things of note from the last fortnight . . .
Weleda Rhinodoron nasal spray with aloe vera gel - hay fever seems to be rife this Spring and this spray has been my handbag hero! Not a decongestant (saw a bonkers news piece this week about people becoming addicted to these!) instead this one helps only to moisturise, relieve and soothe itching in the nasal passages.
The key to up-keeping better habits is often to make the tasks in hand more appealing. I’ve been staying hydrated with better success lately due to a new water bottle. Slick design, gorgeous colour, generous 1L size and so far, helping me to stay on track with my water intake!
I’ve been using Medik8 Bakuchiol Peptides serum in the evenings for around 2 months now and I’m a fan! Designed as an alternative for those who can’t use retinol (super sensitive types and those who are pregnant or nursing) it helps to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving overall skin texture and tone.
I can actually tolerate retinoids and I’m a big advocate of Medik8’s crystal retinal serum usually, but I do find that in Spring/Summer it contributes to an increase in sensitivity and sunburn when my fair skin is exposed to stronger sunshine (and that’s even with SPF!) Bakuchiol Peptides makes a great alternative for this time of year. The texture is more oily so I prefer to use it at night time as I feel make-up may slide, but it can be used in the daytimes too. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement and a smoother, brighter complexion.
I like to think I stay fairly up to date with London’s cafe culture/restaurant scene/new openings etc but I stumbled upon Little Places recently and immediately discovered a whole host of new-to-me establishments, just ripe for exploring! LP started in lock down and has since evolved into a curation platform of some of the most special places, people and projects around the capital. If you are short on inspiration this bank holiday weekend you might just find some here!

How bizarre! I got the same medik8 peptide stuff just a couple of weeks ago (after chat GPT record it 😂) and agree - total covert!
That part of Dorset is my favourite - and that looks like a great find, thank you! My skin hates retinol so may well give this a go. Currently on holiday though where the sun is STRONG and factor 50 is struggling, so my face needs a break from all the things for a while I think! Great post, thanks
