INCOMING CHAIR CHAT FROM SALON GUESTS . . .
I asked lovely Chef A for some advice and recommendations for kitchen knives, if you find yourself in a similar situation wondering where to begin, I was helpfully pointed in the direction of Victorinox and Wustof via Nisbets. Also if you’re looking for something a bit more special, perhaps as a gift for a cookery loving friend, check out Cabin Knives by ex Pro Chef Alfie. After 5 years in the kitchen and hundreds of hours spent chopping, he developed his own style of blades, handles and designs and even offers blacksmithing courses where you can make your own knife!
C rated Sheen cafe Le Swine for tasty burgers and perfect fries, I’ve also heard great things about their breakfasts, Tues-Sun 8am-3pm.
E gave the thumbs up to Lisa Eldridge’s Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint for a barely there base that still looks like skin - just better.
Hair and Make-Up Artist R has been using and loving Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-in Treatment for beautifully smooth blow dries with a glass like sheen. Whilst chatting about just how gorgeous Sienna looked at the Chloe show in Paris, R tipped American Woman as a movie I must to add to my watch list!

MY MONTHLY RECOMMENDATIONS . . .
WELEDA WONDER . . .
This month I’ve been slathering on Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil*, a 100% certified natural massage oil for use on the thighs and buttocks to improve firmness and reduce the appearance of cellulite.
“ From a holistic standpoint, an increase in cellulite can indicate a build-up in toxins within the body - most of which are stored within the body’s adipose (fatty tissue). Regular massage and the use of specific cleansing and stimulating oils can significantly improve appearance of these areas, supporting the body in it’s own internal cleansing processes. Extracts from organically grown birch, rosemary and butcher’s broom stimulate the skin’s metabolism and are blended with active carrier oils, including vitamin rich wheat germ and nourishing jojoba. Invigorating essential oils of grapefruit and cypress provide a zesty fragrance to uplift and energise.”

BEAUTY BITS . . .
I’ve also been enjoying Pai Double British Summertime SPF 30 - a mineral UVA/UVB sunscreen in a more generous sized tube of 75ml/£39. (15% off first order when you shop direct at paiskincare.com)
I’m going to be writing an in depth post on sunscreens soon, covering all of the things you might like to consider when choosing one but for now, all I will say is, I’m a fan of this one because (for me) it blends in well, isn’t too shiny, make-up sits well on top and it’s 99% natural. The texture is thick but in a non greasy, nourishing kind of way.
